The N72R jet needle is a replacement needle specifically designed for Keihin CV carburetor systems. It is used to fine-tune the mid-range from idle to partial load in order to achieve smooth power delivery, better mixture formation, and optimized throttle response. The needle replaces OEM reference number 27175-90.
Suitable for Keihin CV carburetors where the mid-range needs to be adjusted to improve performance, smoothness, and top speed. Ideal for engines that need feed in the partial load range, e.g., touring or sports applications where precise needle position is important.
Function: Determines lubrication and mixture in the mid-range by changing the orifice opening of the main or idle range, depending on the position of the needle in the carburetor.
Why change a mid-range needle?
Lowering or raising the needle position changes the jet flow and air-fuel ratios in the mid-range. Improved power delivery at partial load, reduced tendency to grumble or idle problems. Optimisation of mixture formation at varying air pressures, temperatures and fuel qualities.
